Minnesota State Fair 2025 Unveils 33 New Foods and 8 Fresh Vendors

The Minnesota State Fair is back for 2025, and it’s bringing along an exciting lineup of new foods and vendors. Running from August 21 through Labor Day, September 1, this year’s fair will feature 33 brand-new dishes and eight new food vendors, giving visitors even more reasons to come hungry.

What’s New on the Menu?

Here’s a look at some of the most talked-about new dishes for 2025:

  • Afro Bean Pops: Crispy black-eyed pea bites with jalapeños, onions, and spices, served with spicy red chili sauce and greens. (Vegan, Gluten-Free)

  • Athena’s Whipped Feta: Creamy whipped feta topped with green schug, olive oil, toasted wild rice, and pita chips. (Vegetarian)

  • Birthday Cake Cookie Dough On-A-Stick: Sprinkle-covered cookie dough with a crunchy coating. (Vegetarian)

  • Bison Meatball Sub: Bison and bacon meatballs with gravy, pickles, fried onions, and sour cream in a wild rice bun.

  • Cannoli Gelato Nachos: Cannoli chips covered in cannoli-flavored gelato, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, and a cherry. (Vegetarian)

  • Caprese Curds: Fried mozzarella curds with bruschetta and balsamic glaze, served with crostini. (Vegetarian)

  • Cherry Bigfoot Limeade Float: Limeade topped with cherry soft serve, a lime slice, and cherry garnish. (Vegan, Gluten-Free)

  • Chicken-Fried Bacon Fries: Beef bacon strips fried in tempura batter, served with sweet-hot or BBQ sauce.

  • Cinna-sugar Crust Tidbits: Pie crust strips sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, served with whiskey caramel sauce. (Vegetarian, Vegan upon request)

  • Croffle Cloud: A croissant-waffle topped with sweet cream, fruit drizzle, and fluffy cotton candy. (Vegetarian)

  • Deep-Fried Tofuego Bites: Spicy breaded tofu served on pineapple slaw, garnished with sesame and scallions. (Vegan)

  • Dill Pickle Iced Tea: Black tea with pickle flavor, chamoy, Tajín, and a pickle spear. (Vegan, Gluten-Free)

  • Fawaffle: A falafel waffle topped with tahini butter, hummus, and cherry tomatoes. (Vegetarian)

  • Flauta Dippers: Chicken flautas served with salsa, sour cream, and cotija cheese.

  • Freaky Fryday: Vegan fried “chicken” and bacon served with wild toppings. (Vegan)

  • Grandma Doreen’s Dessert Dog: Ice cream sandwiched between coffee cake slices, topped with jam, whipped cream, and sprinkles. (Vegetarian)

  • Green Apple Sucker Ice Cream: Tart green apple ice cream with swirls of caramel. (Vegetarian, Gluten-Free)

  • Hot Honey Jalapeño Popper Donut: A sweet-and-spicy donut frosted with jalapeño cream cheese and topped with bacon and hot honey.

  • Hot Honey Pizza Ballzz: Dough balls filled with cheese and pepperoni, brushed with garlic butter and hot honey.

  • Hula Kalua Pork: Hawaiian-style smoked pork served with banana chips and pickles.

  • Land of 10,000 Cakes: A sundae with butter brittle ice cream and three mini cupcakes in different flavors. (Vegetarian)

  • Patisserie Sweets:

    • Apple Glaze: A pull-apart donut with maple glaze and streusel.

    • Banana S’more: Cake with bananas, marshmallow, and chocolate. (Vegetarian)

  • Pimento Cheese Puffs: Deep-fried puff pastry filled with pimento cheese and served with pepper jelly. (Vegetarian)

  • Pizza Cheese Curd Tacos: Cheese curds with pizza flavor in a taco shell with marinara.

  • Pot of Gold Potato Dumplings: Mashed potato bites fried and served with a creamy dip. (Vegetarian)

  • Shrimp & Pork Toast On-A-Stick: Fried pork and shrimp spread on toast, served with apricot hot sauce.

  • Smashadilla: Quesadilla with ground beef, Gouda, onions, pickles, and burger sauce.

  • Somali Street Fries: Fries topped with Somali-spiced beef, veggies, cheese, and sauces.

  • Sweet Squeakers: Funnel cake-battered cheese curds topped with lemon cream and berry sauce. (Vegetarian)

  • Tandoori Chicken Quesaratha: Spiced chicken, cheese, and peppers wrapped in paratha bread with avocado-lime sauce.

  • Timber Twists: Sausage, mozzarella, and cream cheese stuffed in pasta, wrapped in bacon and smoked.

  • Triple Chocolate Mini Donuts: Mini donuts with chocolate icing, chips, and sprinkles in a chocolate-lined bucket. (Vegetarian)

  • Uncrustaburger: A burger between two deep-fried peanut butter and jelly Uncrustables.

New Vendors Joining the Fair

This year, eight new vendors will serve their signature treats:

  • Beans & Beignets: Serving sweet beignets and specialty coffee.

  • Chocolate Strawberry Cup: Fresh strawberries with chocolate, matcha, pistachios, and more (many options are gluten-free).

  • Greater Tater: Oversized stuffed tater tots in five flavors. (Gluten-Free)

  • Lumpia City: Filipino-style lumpia, including pizza and ube banana French toast varieties.

  • Magdalena’s Chimney Cakes: Hungarian-style chimney pastries with ice cream and toppings.

  • Midtown Global Market’s Irie Jamaican: Jerk oxtail, BBQ, coconut shrimp, plantains, and hibiscus drinks. (Available Aug. 27–Sept. 1)

  • Oasis Grill & Hoyo Sambusa: Somali sambusas, fries, and slushies. (Available Aug. 21–26)

  • Urban Glow Mocktails: Fancy non-alcoholic cocktails and mini hot dogs in Hawaiian rolls.
